Aberfeldy Triathlon is organised as a collaboration between Durty Events (Craggy Island Triathlon, Strathclyde Park Triathlon, Aviemore Triathlon) and Richard Pearson (Scottish Triathlon scene stalwart, organiser of BTF Event of The Year).
Set in the beautiful Highland Perthshire region, this great Middle Distance race (1900m Swim, 90km Bike, 21km Run) takes in the cool, clear waters of Loch Tay, challenging roads over the shoulder of Schiehallion, a circumnavigation of the wild Loch Rannoch.
A real test in an amazing place – in short, THE classic Scottish triathlon.

Swim
1900m Swim in the spectacular Loch Tay.
The swim and T1 are based at Taymouth Marina on the shores of Loch Tay. Taymouth Marina is dominated by breathtaking views of Ben Lawers and the surrounding landscape.
The stunning scenery, coupled with an impressive range of on-site facilities, making Taymouth Marina the ideal swim and T1 venue.
Bike
90km Road Cycle on quiet (and challenging!) roads of Highland Perthshire.
Leaving Taymouth Marina, the Bike course takes athletes on a spectacular journey into the breath-taking Highland Perthshire Countryside.
Run
This will be an on road run in spectacular surroundings, the perfect way to finish this amazing race.
Race HQ
Race HQ will be in at the Breadalbane Community Campus in Aberfeldy.
Event car parking will be located at the Breadalbane Community Campus, Aberfeldy Town Hall and Aberfeldy Public Car Parks. Event Briefing will take place within the Breadalbane Community Campus.
PLEASE NOTE: Race registration/sign-on is on Saturday 14th August – there will be no registration on race day itself.
Transitions
T1 will be located at the Taymouth Marina a 300m walk from the car park at Taymouth Castle, T2 will be located at the Breadalbane Community Campus in Aberfeldy. T1 will be open from 05:30 on Sunday morning to allow for bikes to be racked.
We recommend that athletes rack their bikes before 06:30 and note that transition will close at 07:00.
Both transitions are security areas and only competitors wearing their number will be allowed access. Mount and dismount lines will be clearly marked.

The mandatory race briefings will also be held on Saturday 21st August, check your race briefing for timings and ensure you attend at one of the allocated times.
Cut offs
There will be three cut-offs imposed at the race.
1:15hrs for the Swim section
5:30hrs for the cumulative time for Swim + Bike
8:30hrs at the finish line
Charity Partner
CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young
We are delighted once again to be working with CRY who will be our Event Charity Partner. They will deliver a drinks station on the Run Course and we will have collection buckets over the Race weekend, please give what you can to this wonderful charity. Their work towards preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families is critical.

SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
We’re delighted that Aberfeldy Triathlon will be hosting the Triathlon Scotland Scottish National Middle Distance Triathlon Championships again in 2021.
Scottish National Championship events comprise overall winners and age group category winners, giving members the chance to compete against their peers and win national titles from youth to classic.
Starting in 2020 Scottish Championship titles will now be awarded in 5-year age bands, in line with the British Championships and the rest of the Home Nations. This change will mean there will be 15 Age Group Championship titles per gender up for grabs at each open event.
Overall race Champions will be crowned and presented with the relevant Championship trophy and a medal will be presented to all podium finishers. Monetary prizes will no longer be awarded to overall podium winners.
Eligibility
To be eligible to win a Scottish Championship title and associated prizes, participants must have a valid Triathlon Scotland membership. BTF rule 15.5 states that participants must ensure that their membership (also known as a race licence) is valid no later than by 5pm 3 days prior to the championship e.g. 5pm Wednesday before a Sunday event.

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
We are looking forward to delivering the British Championships in 2021. British Championship events represent the top level of competition in the UK giving triathletes the best opportunity to race to their full potential in the chase for British Championships titles in their Age-Group category.
At these events Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded in each age group competing, to athletes who have a valid home nations membership. Eligibility The details of the Eligibility Rules can be found at British Triathlon Competition Rules. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they understand these rules, and to ensure their membership is valid no later than 5pm, 3 working days prior to the championship event they wish to compete in i.e. 5pm Wednesday before a Sunday event. Home Nation Association members must bring their valid membership card with them to the championship event they are competing in.
